Early Bird – 12th April

2:20 Aintree – Beau Gosse

The French have been taking everything before them in the big a/w races in England so far and they have an opportunity to make their mark in the 4yo division over hurdles also. Beau Gosse is 4th highest rated RPR in the race, just behind We Have A Dream and is actually officially rated the same as that rival and higher that Apples Shakira! Solid form and experience in France including winning a listed hurdle. Wasn’t disgraced when brought over here and finishing third to Redicean. Would have found things happening a bit quick for it on good ground over the easy Kempton two miles. Softer ground, longer trip and stiffer track will all play to its strengths and should see an improved display.

0.5pt e/w Beau Gosse @ 18/1 Paddy Power and Betfair

4:05 Aintree – Distime

Despite being a 12yo Distime seems to come alive over these fences and though has a fair bit to find on official ratings they become somewhat irrelevant over these fences and in the foxhunters chase. Been placed in the Topham, it unfortunately unseated in this last year. However, moved to a new trainer where top amateur William Biddick has had a couple of rides on him in point to points. Missed out on Cheltenham as the trip is too far, this is the ideal race for it.

0.75pt e/w Distime @ 16/1 Ladbrokes and Boylesport 1/5th odds first 4
