Unlucky on Saturday with the two to run from our Ante Post advice both going off considerably shorter prices and running good races only to be outdone in my opinion by a poor draw in the case of Polybius and hitting the front too soon with Spanish City. What was even more frustrating was Burnt Sugar being the one to beat it who was firmly in my mind though ended up siding with the less exposed runner.
4:05 Ayr – Nicholas T
Has a great record over course and distance, which improves even further when in fields of 8 or less. Under those conditions its form figures read 121132. Perhaps not suited to the 4 runner race last time in which the Mark Johnston runner, like many from his yard proved too difficult to pass once hitting the front. Won a similar race least year and only 2lb higher this time round. Yard had a couple of winners on Saturday including the John Smiths Handicap so no concerns there. At its price it looks a bit of value.

7:20 Windsor – Just That Lord
Impressed with its run in the Dash when finishing third despite being drawn in stall 1, the only horse from a single figure stall to finish in the first 6 home. The winner went and won again next time off a 7lb higher mark. Is actually 2lb lower here for this run whilst the minimum trip on decent ground and a small field is ideal as it can dominate and control the pace of the race. Is already a course and distance winner it has an excellent chance.
