A win with Dream Machine on Monday meant a profitable day. Landing Light was a close third.
2:55 York – Private Matter
A French listed winner as a 2yo who got absolutely crippled by the handicapper, starting last year off a mark of 106. Not disgraced on that run either when 4th of 7. Didn’t seem to get much luck at all last year though there is no denying its form tailed off. Has slipped well down the handicap however and showed much more potential last time when travelling well in behind but unable to pick up a couple of rivals who had been prominent throughout. Has a decent turn of foot when getting the race run to suit, if there is a strong pace then I expect it to be close.

5:35 York – Je Suis Charlie
4yo who left the Bell yard last year to join John Quinn where it had three creditable runs over hurdles at a fair level. The yard is in cracking form with 6 winners from the last 26 sent out. Caught the eye a couple of times last year including when second in a class 2, seemingly getting to the front too soon. Big field scenario should suit, this mark looks like its one it can work well off whilst it should benefit from the experience gained over hurdles.
