Early Bird – 17th March

The second day in a row we start and end with a winner at Cheltenham. Overall it was another tough, but enjoyable festival in which a good profit was made. I will go through all of my figures and confirm the profit/loss and ROI in the next few days. In the meantime though we have a Saturdays racing to pick through.

2:50 Kempton – Azzerti

Last time out winner whose form got a major boost when the runner up went and won the Imperial Cup last weekend. The pair were well clear of the remainder. Been hit with a 10lb rise for that but considering what the runner up has done then it might turn out to be lenient. Seemed to appreciate the step back up in trip where it saw it out well. Prior to that it was third here on soft ground over 2m when finding a couple of rivals that were too quick. Stepping up a bit further but at an easier track it looks a good chance to continue its progression.

1.5pt win Azzerti @ 11/2 Bet365

3:35 Uttoxeter – Back To The Thatch & Billy Bronco

Going to take two here into the Midlands National which will be a gruelling test on bad ground if it goes ahead. First up though is Back To The Thatch who was fancied for the Eider going off at 6/1 and travelled well for a long way till making a mistake and falling. Should find this a bit easier and if none the worse for that fall then it can resume back to winning ways. Still only a 6yo so open to improvement and yard are good at progressing their young chasers.

The other I like is Billy Bronco who has a nice low weight to carry having previously finished 2nd at Catterick in the North Yorkshire national. Bumped into a progressive rival there. Billy Bronco was having just its 8th career start and looks th etype who can go well in these marathon races.
