A win on Saturday with Gin In The Inn along with a couple of placers in Dream Berry (Once again importance of the extra places having finished 6th) and Relentless Dreamer at an SP of 33/1.
3:55 Pontefract – Intense Style
A race run over course and distance less than a week ago saw the first five home drawn in the 6 lowest stalls. Therefore I don’t see why we should look much further than those six stalls again. Stalls 1, 4 and 6 are occupied by horses who have shown little form, lack a run for over half a year and are unfancied in the betting. In three is Mutarakez, a horse who often flatters to deceive, travelling well but finding little. It’s on a 20 race losing streak and hasn’t won for almost three years. That leaves Frankster and Intense Style. Frankster is a course and distance winner last year on soft ground. However, it ran in the race mentioned earlier from a favourable stall and come 4th. To win this it would need to find improvement for the run and the possibly softer ground. Not convinced that would happen though expect it to go close. Instead at a similar price I favour Intense Style, a horse who was third only four days ago but in a better race than this, against less exposed rivals. Gets on well with his female jockey who won on this horse off the same mark as here at Beverley on soft ground over slightly shorter. Seen several winners lately who have been turned out quickly and hopefully this cane be another.

3:45 Ascot – Eirene
Interesting Filly for a yard that does so well with sprinters. Won both her races last year with ease in the ground whilst wasn’t disgraced in 6th in the Cheveley Park despite not seeming to handle the course and racing away from the main action. Started the year with a good third in the Nell Gwyn when not getting the race run to suit. Both wins as a 2yo were at sprint trips so is well worth a try here getting the allowance.

4:55 Ascot – Fire Tree
Course and distance winner who disappointed last time at Kempton. Travelled well but dropped away poorly, having been backed from 16/1 into 10/1 on course clearly better was expected. Dropped 2lb it is now just a pound above its last winning mark yet has a claimer on board taking 5lb off. Is best with a bit of ease in the ground, it has had a wind operation and connections have added a visor to sharpen the horse up. IF it can return to form back at this course then it has a great chance.
