Early Bird – 7th June

A very well backed horse in Doctor Cross, ending up at 9/4 having been advised at 13/2 (Less a small R4) however it got outpaced at a crucial stage in the race, owing to the slow early pace before it ran on again to good effect. A stronger race at the distance or a step back up in trip will suit.

5:45 Leopardstown – Moravia

It is well known that O’Brien horses often need their first run and quite often improve significantly for that. Therefore when he has three in a race which are all making their debut and are all priced in single figures then it is a market quite out of kilter to what regularly occurs. There is little support for the unraced Mrs John Harrington so the obvious candidate is Moravia for Ger Lyons and ridden by Colin Keane. 4th in a useful maiden, it never really stepped up on that form to finish 5th in a listed race. However, a stiffer test here may help and certainly won’t be lacking in the saddle. This looks a good opportunity to put its experience to good use and get off the mark.

2pt win Moravia @ 10/3 Ladbrokes
