Towcester Review
Tipped up five out of the six races I gave selections in and unfortunately it was my only loser Magical Bale let us down for the big money accumulator! But three winners out of four, gave us a winning treble and a small profit on the night even after the Romford tip sunk with a slow break.
Seven Points staked and eight and half returned.
Mark Wallis had four winners on the night.
Greyhound Derby 2nd Round
Heats 9-16 (1st 3 qualify)
Heat 9 – A very open looking first heat and I was disappointed with Calico Ranger’s effort last week just sneaking through and on that evidence I would be worried for our ante post investment and as such I couldn’t be tipping him here. In fact not interested in having a bet in a race that anything in it could win. ?
Heat 10 – My first bet of the night here and I’m quite sweet on Pat Buckley’s Borna Account who ran well to pick up Slippy Cian close home. The Scottish Derby third will need one of his better breaks to clear the inside if doing so he can lead or at least follow Innocent Times round and get first crack at him. Dorotas Vic will be rattling home but wouldn’t back run Account. 2-5
Heat 11 – Mark Wallis who was on fire last night and he can land another here with impressive Saleen Ash who upstaged kennel mate Bruisers Bullet last week. He can follow Bockos Alfie round and get first crack at him to go on and score. Alfie’s Prince will be staying on well. 5-1
Heat 12 – All eyes will be on Droopys Biker to see how he goes this week after scrapping through in the first round. He’s not for me though I will wait to be impressed. I was taken with Coneen Jack with his performance last week and he’s my selection. Greenwell Jean can fill the fc spot if getting a clear run. 1-4
Heat 13 – Not a heat I have a strong opinion in. King Eden would win if back to his best but that looked some way off last week. Black Zack had every chance in his heat and does again.
Let’s Be Ready was another to run below par any of these could bounce back. ?
Heat 14 – Is a similar heat to the previous – Slippy Cian a non runner its wide open and again I have no selection or interest. Any of the five remaining could win it??
Heat 15 – Best race of the night a match between Droopys Verve and Dorotas Wildcat.
Verve has been flawless so far but I will side with the Wildcat as he’s much better drawn in Trap 2 than in his recent races and if he comes away he will lead Verve to the first bend and be devilishly difficult to pass. 2-4
Heat 16 – I will side with King Elvis here, his early pace is a delight and he surely must go well clear here, we know he’s not the strongest stayer but he’s not treading water.
Clash may get first dabs on him if he clears the bend this week. Shaneboy Freddie can start better and could be a hazard. Oi Oi Upenalty is strong and should make Round Three. 1-4
