GM – 1st May
It was no April Fool yesterday at Nottingham when both selections were beaten.
Nowurlaughing missed the break and then he tangled with the Newinn dog inside him at the first corner and Friday’s Zeus fell out in the Sprint. A rare bad night at the office.
I’m not interested in Sheffield and Crayford opens tonight.
* Instead let’s have a go at the fastest sectional market in the Derby that Ladbrokes have provided.
Now for some reason a dog can do a fast split from the 480 traps yet when going to the 500 traps it can’t reproduce it!
Best sticking to dogs who have solid splits in the book from the 500 traps!
5.10 from Clares Rocket was last years winner!
I have five selections that I think can give us a run for our money.
The likes of Bruisers Bullet 5.14 Bubbly Bluebird 5.10 Dorotas Wildcat 5.16 are capable but are not consistently doing those times.
King Elvis fronts the market and rightfully so on known form. He must be included he’s clocked consistently fast times from the 500 boxes. His best is 5.09.
Rising Brandy clocked 5.09 in a trial and 5.16 in a race and he’s so lightly raced he could be the one to keep improving and go bingo.
Barefoot Painter would have gone close to Wuheida for the fastest sectional in the Scottish Derby had the timing system been working – his race was only hand timed with no sectional. He clocked 5.22 in his trial and it looked faster. He can improve.
Dropzone is another fast starter where ever he goes and he’s got a 5.13 recorded.
Bockos Alfie is a habitual fast starter and he’s got 5.13 and 5.16 splits recorded.
