Towcester Review
Last night was a disaster and it made it a week to forget.
Like I said yesterday the Derby can do that to you!
I will re-group and look to bounce back next week.

It started with Bombers Bullet who couldn’t clear Calico Ranger inside him at the first corner this gave him a mountain to overcome to say catch pacesetter Bubbly Bluebird, which he nearly did, only a head separating them.
Then Knockard Spring couldn’t clear Noelles Phelpso early and after that was never really a factor.
Then a double whammy with Whoops Jack unexpectedly playing second fiddle to kennel mate Crossfield Will both in the fastest sectional and in the heat itself!
So a disappointing nil return for us.

The only good news for us was Rising Brandy then cemented his place as a real Derby contender when he flew out and comfortably beat Bruisers Bullet. Calico Ranger flew home to clinch third.
Not so good news when Black Farren went out behind King Elvis who couldn’t match Crossfield Will flying split.
Dorotas Wildcat & Droopys Verve were impressive of the easy relative heats they faced in fast times.
It’s often said that you need luck to be a Derby champ and unfortunately Droopys Biker didn’t get that luck when he was badly baulked at the first bend when Farloe Hutch went lame. Innocent Times led and was never in danger as a result.

So we have Bruisers & Bombers Bullet, Rising Brandy & Calico Ranger flying the ante post flag for us in Tuesday’s Quarter Finals.

We move on the two quick runs, you just don’t know how the dogs will cope.
There will be more twists & turns to come, I’m sure!

No bets today.
