Second Night Review
Safe to say it’s not been easy to find winners at Towcester in the first round of the Derby, there have been plenty of shocks and fancied dogs eliminated. That’s what can happen at this track especially in a first round where most heats have four going through.
For us last night Shaneboy Freddie never came away and Sporting Dave did break well for the first time and that was that. Clonbrien Hero looked certain to qualify behind Saleen Ash when Bruisers Bullet safely through in second, slammed him into the rails at the fourth bend and put him out! Bockos Alfie recorded a 5.15 sectional which put him third fastest and he will get another go after winning his heat.
Thankfully we found a winner over at Romford with Oh Armani but Cotton Pants could only manage second behind Coolavany Boy. So we broke even on the night.
Let’s see if we can have a better night at Towcester.
* I will do a proper review of the first round heats on Sunday and send it out on Monday.
Heat 19 –  this looks at the mercy of Droopys Biker who fairly flew round in his trial which propelled him to ante post favourite. It’s no gimme though as Droopys Bonucci and Da Head Hunter are serious opponents. 4-6

Heat 20 – Bombers Bullet the jolly here looks fairly solid, providing he gets a clear path but Crossfield Giles has some early boot as does Knockard Spring for Kevin Boon and either could get clear and take a bit of catching. 2-5

Heat 21 – A four dog heat where Tyrur Harold is at prohibitive odds, not interested betting him at heavy odds on . Lightfoot Caesar could cause an upset If getting first run on the fav. 3-1

Heat 22 – Magical Bale winner of the Puppy Derby last year looks a solid fav here on the rails.
Innocent Times was runner up to Bale is said Puppy Derby and can fill the fc spot. Big Eddie can qualify for our ante post purposes and would go close if getting a clear run. 1-6

Heat 23 – Tyrur Shay seems to have recovered well from his career ending gracilis injury but would I back him here at short odds – no! Though he’s the most likely winner.
Vic looks well housed out wide, Bull Run Button trials have been average for a top class bitch, Bubbly Bluebird can both bounce back anytime. 4-6

Heat 24 – A five dog heat where all eyes will be on Droopys Davy whose trial was less than convincing. I think Drive on Tipp could well capitalise if the fav flops, he will do for me.
Ashbank Christy can qualify.
3-6

Heat 25 – Another match up between Scottish Derby winner The Other Reg one of our ante post picks and Black Farren who impressed on trainers champ night. Reg for me to get first run.
5-3

Heat 26 – This looks between Murrys Act & Droopys Martial who gets first run wins? Murrys Act for me to get first run and that should be that.  6-5
