Shawfield Review
The night started badly with Blissful Scolari who was badly baulked at the first bend with a dog knocked over in front of him. However my 10/1 tip Killeford Banjo bolted out and held on for a share of the spoils in the next race. Dead heat so half the stake applied to the odds means we still came away with four points profit.

Two of our three ante post bets however bit the dust last night, Bruisers Bullet & Calco Ranger both disappointed but we have The Other Reg through and running for us in next week’s Final.
Our fastest sectional bet Wuheida (3.62) is still in pole position after the semis, so we just have next week’s finalists to hold off to collect our 12/1 voucher.

The Bunny Bookmakers Gold Cup Final over at Henlow this afternoon looks to be at the mercy of Slippy Maggie though at the odds she’s not a betting proposition. She is however worth following over a stiff six bends and beyond the rest of 2018.

I have fond memories of the Gimcrack having reached the Final in 2016 with Holdem Rio.
It doesn’t look a stellar year this year and Brinkleys Poet looks a worthy favourite on the trial sessions. While I also like Raise the Stakes, Geelo Blissful and Lowgate Rudy look young pups with a future who can improve. I also like Charlie Lister’s Local Playboy on what he’s done so far  along with Darren Whitton’s Moaning Star who went well in the Monmore Puppy Derby and dipped under the sprint track record. Let’s bet them ante post.

Todays Bets :-
Ante Post – Betfred Gimcrack (1/4 odds 1st 4) Final 22/4
Brinkleys Poet – 2 points win @ 3/1 Hills & Betfred
Local Playboy – 1 point win @ 10/1 Ladbrokes
Moaning Star – 0.5 point ew @ 16/1 Bet 365
