The meeting got off to a flier for us when La Soldado flew the lids and never saw another rival in the first heat. Droopys Dev was a disappointment though just wasn’t at the races and then Leeming Perrin missed the break but showed plenty of pace in defeat. He’s one to follow.
Droopys Verve looked a worthy ante post favourite and Matt Dartnall’s Rising Brandy also looked very good. We ended up with a small profit.
Hove have a handful of opens tonight. Two bets.
I think Jason Heath’s Droopys Affirm is worth a bet in a heat of the Stayers comp. A good break can see him get first run on this field and it would take a good effort for anything to back run him. He’s 2/4 from the trap and 4/8 in opens.
Sheryas Solitair looks the fc filler.
I rarely bet in sprints but Ladbrokes & Coral have presented me an opportunity I can’t resist. I watched last week’s heats and I don’t see why they have Let’s Be Ready as favourite in front of my selection Droopys Perfect. Seamus Cahill’s dog is 4/5 clad in blue and 7/13 in open company.
Sprints are all about trapping and Perfect does just that on a regular basis where Let’s Be Ready doesn’t trap but is a very fast dog once he’s running but I prefer to be out in front especially at the prices.
Tonight’s Bets :-
Hove 7.51 Droopys Affirm 2 points win @ 11/8 Coral
Hove 8.11 Droopys Perfect 2 points win @ 9/4 Ladbrokes
