Thursday’s are fast becoming the best open race night of the week.
I’m concentrating on Newcastle & Monmore this evening.
We are already holding an Ante Post voucher on Geelo Blissful in the Angel of the North Final at Newcastle.
All tonight’s bets are at Monmore where the Gold Cup starts with six heats.
Starting with an Ante Post bet in that.
King Elvis 2 points win @ 4/1 generally
He’s 2/2 at the track and has trialled well there over c&d recently in preparation for the Gold Cup. His brute early pace is a weapon and he’s a dog I always want to have onside.

7.54 Monmore Bonito Amigo 2 points win @ 15/8 B365
In heat two of the Gold Cup I like Bonito Amigo I confess to not knowing much about the trainer Michael Hurst, his dog however has caught my eye winning twice at Monmore recentl
His end winning times are nothing to write home about but the manner of his victories were.
He’s got one of the weaker heats i.e. no big guns in it and can take advantage.

8.11 Monmore Bubbly Bluebird 2 points win @ 7/4 Ladbrokes
Bluebird is my selection in what appears to be a match with Brinkleys Poet.
It’s a race to the corner both have very good early pace but Bluebird can go round in front as he’s drawn inside Poet. He’s 6/11 when clad in Red and recent c&d trials have been good.
8.42 Monmore Ela Juliet 1.5 points win @ 3/1 Ladbrokes, Betfair & Power
Now they say draws win races. At Monmore the 630 metre distance that the Summer Stayers Classic is over, is a real short run to the first bend. Fast starting railers are my preferred option.
Matt Dartnall’s bitch has trap one is unbeaten over the trip and I think will get round in front.
She can make it 4/4 and scoop the £7500 first prize.
