Unlucky with our selection today, leading all the way until the final 5 yards where it gets done on the line! Hopefully we get some better luck on Thursday.
2:35 Goodwood – Lady Bergamot
Impressed me last season with a very willing attitude, especially at Leicester last year when she was given plenty to do but was brave to go through a gap then stuck her neck out all the way to the line. I see no reason why she won’t continue to improve this season and though up against some much less exposed rivals I think she will take a lot of beating.
1.5pt win Lady Bergamot @ 11/4 WillHill and Paddy
3:10 Goodwood – Rich Identity
Having advised Communique to win last weekend after finishing second to a talented Godolphin handicapper then I can’t resist the horse who came third behind it. Rich Identity has plenty of ability itself though clearly bumped into a pair of very good horses last time. Had previously been placed in three maiden/novice runs as a 2yo though not seen out till September. This well bred colt should be up to winning a handicap at this level especially considering this race doesn’t look too tough for the grade.
1.5pt win Rich Identity @ 3/1 WillHill
8:40 Sandown – Burrumbeet
Lightly raced 4yo who wasn’t seen out until the end of December last year. Didn’t show too much on debut which was clearly needed as it improved to win a small novice contest next time. More impressive last time when 2nd trying to concede a lot of weight to a pair of promising three year olds, just outbattled in the closing stages. On the upgrade, the yard is in decent form and its handicap mark doesn’t look harsh. From a good draw it is capable of causing an upset.
