Yesterday was disappointing with none of our selections giving us a return.
11.45 – Doncaster – Daddies Girl. 1.25 pts e/w. Available at 11/1.
Daddies Girl is drawn in stall one on the wing of the field, which isn’t ideal, and, despite the big field, it isn’t blessed with a plethora of early pace which won’t suit the selection either. However, her talented five pound claimer could get her the cover she needs and sheer numbers may create an honest pace. If things do pan out favourably conditions have come right for her to produce her best. She has been kept busy this season and, although not winning, she has produced a string of consistent performances. Three of her six best career efforts have come on straight tracks and, despite her consistency, she can now race from her lowest mark of the season. That still leaves her four pounds above her highest winning mark but she has the ability to get competitive at least. The yard are 0 from 26 here in recent seasons but they have sent just the one on the long trek from Devon for this meeting. They had a welcome winner recently after going through October winless.
1.30 – Doncaster – Company Asset. 0.75 pts e/w. Available at 16/1. (Paddy Power, Betfair – 1/5 odds first 4)
Company Asset has plenty to find with some of these on Official Ratings but she was progressive with ease in the ground last season and the only time she has had those conditions this season was when returning from a break last time out at York. That race was likely needed and it’s a track where she had been below her best on two previous visits. She was very impressive when thrashing Empress Ali over an extended ten furlongs at Haydock 14 months ago and followed that with a second in Listed company in France. That saw her rated 100 before the start of this campaign and, if she were to run to that level on this return to softer ground, she would be up there with the best of these and her current price will look very generous.
2.40 – Aintree – Martiloo. 1.5 pts win. Available at 8/1.
Paul Nicholls saddles the favourite in this race and Romain De Senam ran well enough on his reappearance to run a big race this afternoon. However it could pay to side with the bigger priced, Northern-based, Martiloo. Her profile over the past two seasons is one of an improving Chaser, two her three wins coming in her last four starts. After easy victories at Ayr and here over 20 furlongs he was made favourite for a three mile Chase at Perth. He wasn’t disgraced, finishing just under five lengths fourth of the eleven runners, but it was plain to see he didn’t quite see out the trip. The drop back in distance is a wise move and she gave the impression when winning over C/D on her penultimate start that her current eight pound higher mark would be within her capabilities. Good ground suits but she does handle some cut so if any rain does arrive it won’t necessarily scupper her chances.
2.45 – Doncaster – Cold Stare. 1 pt e/w. Available at 14/1. (BetVictor – 1/5 odds first 4)
3.15 – Doncaster:
Reshoun. 1.25 pts e/w. Available at 10/1. (Paddy Power – 1/5 odds first 6)

3.35 – Wincanton – Captain Buck’s. 1.5 pts e/w. Available at 9/1. (Betfred, Betvictor, Paddy Power, totesport.com)
