Form Guru – 29th May

Yesterday was forgettable with none of our selections giving us a return. Silver Gleam did the best of a poor bunch when he finished just outside the frame in fourth at Redcar.

Today’s Selections:

3.00 – Redcar – Off Art. 1 pt e/w. Available at 12/1.

We supported Off Art last time out at Doncaster on his reappearance. Considering he had a lot in his favour it was a disappointing performance and makes him a risky proposition here. However this race represents a drop in grade and he is now three pounds below the mark from which he won at Doncaster last September. That victory came on soft ground but he handles quicker conditions perfectly well. He has been placed in two of his three previous visits here and represents a yard who have had six winners from 23 entries in the past seven days.

4.20 – Leicester:

Sweet Charity. 1.25 pts win. Available at 9/1.

Gamestars Icon. 1 pt e/w. Available at 11/1.

A decent three year old handicap with just ten pounds separating top and bottom weights. Nibras Galaxy did us a favour when winning last time out and is open to further improvement but he faces a whole host of horses in opposition here who can lay claim to being the same. Sweet Charity has been placed in her three races to date and makes her handicap debut off a reasonable looking mark of 72. All three of her starts have come over a mile on the Polytrack at Lingfield so this represents a different test but the form of her close second on her reappearance earlier this month has been franked by both the first and fifth who have ran well against each other subsequently. The step up to ten furlongs promises to suit and the booking of Fran Berry, who has a very profitable 20% strike rate at this track, is a positive. Gamestars Icon is still a maiden after six starts but he has come a close second in three of his last four starts. They have come on varying surfaces over a mile but his pedigree is chock full of stamina and this much stiffer test could see him improve enough to defy his current mark of 73. The yard are in good form and Graham Lee knows the horse having ridden him in two of his starts. The yard send just the one to this track and the jockey travels to the course for just the one ride before going on to Wolverhampton.

4.40 – Lingfield – Dalasiri. 0.5 pts e/w. Available at 28/1. (Paddy Power, Betfair,, Betfred – 1/5 odds first 4)

8.20 – Brighton:

Tifl. 1 pt e/w. Available at 14/1.

Big Amigo. 0.75 pts e/w. Available at 20/1.
